Hobby Master 1/72 Air Power Series, HA2117, F-100D Super Sabre 0-52816, 120th TFS, Colorado ANG.
On June 21, 1945 the 120th TRS was reconstituted and 11
months later re-designated 120th
FS and assigned to the Colorado ANG. The 120th FS “Colorado Cougars” was stationed at Buckley Field, a
section of Lowry AFB, Colorado and was awarded the history and honours as well as
the Guidon (colours) of the former 120th TRS.
In January 1961 the unit was once again
re-designated, this time 120th TFS and in May 1968 went to
Phan Rang AB, South Vietnam with their F-100Cs. When the 120th returned from Vietnam in April 1969 they
re-equipped with the F-100D variant which they flew until April 1974 when the converted
to the LTV A-7D.
