The 60th FIS was activated in 1940 as the 60th
Pursuit Squadron but re-designated the 60th
FS “Fighting Crows” on May 15, 1942. On January 5, 1959 the 60th FS located at
Otis AFB, MA was the first
Air Defense Squadron to receive the new McDonnell F-101 Voodoo.
On April 30, 1971 the 60th FS
was deactivated and with that F-101B 57-0364 was sold to Canada
and became CF-101B 101036. In 1987 it became an instructional airframe and struck off charge in 1993.
