Hundreds of people have attended the funeral of a war veteran who died with no close friends or relatives, in a moving service on Armistice Day.
Harold Jellicoe Percival died in a nursing home in St Annes, Lancashire, last month, at the age of 99, with no family left to attend his funeral.
But a notice in his local St Annes Express newspaper drew attention to the World War Two veteran's heartbreaking case, and was picked up by injured soldier Sergeant Rick Clement.
Sergeant Clement, who lost both legs in Afghanistan, launched an online campaign asking any serving or former military men and women to turn out for the funeral and give Mr Percival the "send off he deserves" .
And at 11am today - Armistice Day - more than 300 people answered his call, lining the streets of Lytham St Annes and packing out Lytham Park Crematorium.
