A rare Fairey Firefly left the runway at Gillespie Field in California while participating in the Wings over Gillespie Airshow.
The Firefly was developed from the Fairey Fulmar and was a British Second World War carrier-bourne fighter and anti-submarine aircraft of the Fleet Air Arm.
It has a crew of two and is powered by a Rolls Royce Griffon engine. To my knowledge, this crash leaves the world with just one or two airworthy Firefly aircraft.
