Hobby Master 1/72 Air Power Series, HA3817, F-16A Netz 107 116th Sqn. "Flying Wing", Israeli Air Force.
On June 7, 1981 a raid on the Iraqi Osirak nuclear
reactor under construction was executed by the
IDF/AF. Called “Operation Opera” it consisted of 8 F-16A Netz loaded with 2,000
pound bombs and 3 external
fuel tanks and a pair of air-to-air missiles.
The bombs were dropped and all aircraft returned safely. One
of the F-16 Netz was #107 of the First Jet Squadron that would later become the most successful
aircraft of this type when in 1982 it shot down 6.5 Syrian MiGs.
