The move of the large exhibits from Lambeth Road is creating some interesting photo opportunities at Duxford. With a large amount of the aircraft, tanks and guns etc having been moved it is now possible to see some of the WWI and WWII 'icons'.
Here are a selection of photos that show the latest comings and goings including the poor old Varsity that is hopefully off to a new home to be restored. The DAS Ambassador is coming along nicely as well.
That Sopwith Camel is full of dust from being hung from the ceiling for so long but it will get a sprucing before going back to the new galleries in London - it deserves it as it is a VC winner.
Those German 'terror' weapons really do concentrate the mind and makes one wonder 'what if'.....? An He-162 and a V1 were the pinnacle of German desperation at the end of the war.
Finally, I couldn't resist a photo of the Me-109. A true 'BoB' veteran. The IWM Fw-190 is going to the RAF museum as it is, in fact, a loan item.
Shuttle
