New Hobby Master Stearman.

Here are some VERY EARLY prototype photos of the new 1/48 Boeing Stearman PT-17 Kaydet that will be released later this year. There is more wire rigging to be done and a lot of the small add ons outstanding.

These photos are very basic but I will keep you posted as more detailed photos as development progresses become available.

New Hobby Master Releases for July 2011

Big news from Hobby Master this month in the annoucement of the Boeing Stearman Biplane in 1/48!!! This is sure to be a stunner!!! In addition there is an Fw 190 flown by Adolf Galland.

In 1/72 we have a few new fast jets, most notably the Japanese T-2 and two seat F-104 Starfighter. There's also a Screaming Eagles VF-51 F-4B Phantom as well as a Vietnam era RF-4C. Lastly we have a USMC Desert Storm Harrier.

In 1/72 we have a Bf110 nightfighter and a Stuka in Hungarian colours.

I know many of you do go out get models online from vendors throughout the world and on ebay.

I view of this I thought I'd warn you against the Ape Collection SAS in Italy. They have an online store and sell via ebay.

I bought some diecast armour from them last year and the parcel went missing. I was asked to wait since they'd never lost a parcel and would resend the items if it didn't arrive by a certain date. Needless to say, I still don't have the items and got the brush off because it now happened too long ago.

So folks, be careful out there and beware of the Ape Collection Sas!!!

Price Reduction on the Shannon Airliner Collection!!!

The Shannon Airliner Collection has seen significant price reductions. Prices on some models have been reduced by up to R80, that is in excess of 20% off the previous listed prices on Bid or Buy!!!!

New Hobby Master Releases for June 2011

June releases from Hobby Master include some interesting new models. Of particular interest is the SAAF Hawker Fury, No. 206, limited to 800 pieces and in 1/48 scale. Also in 1/48 is a Brewster Buffalo in USMC colours.

In 1/72 the are few items of interest. The BIGGEST news is that Hobby Master is eventually releasing a 3 tone camouflaged MiG-21!!! Many having been asking for the particular scheme. It comes in the for of the MiG-21SMT which also has a humpback for additional fuel.

There's also F-111F, Miss Liberty II, that led the attack on Lybia in 1986. There's the Toilet Bomber Skyraider with the accompanying toilet!!! Yes, you read correctly, a toilet!!! This was to celebrate dropping 6 million pounds of bombs on Vietnam. 

There's an Iranian F-5E Tiger II that will go very well with the upcoming F-4E Phantom II in the same colours. A USMC F-4 Phantom that had the tail painted in Royal Navy colours after it landed on the Ark Royal.
