We've been having a really good run with very hard to find Lancasters!!! The latest one being the Guy Gibson, Admiral Prune release. This model has proved extremely hard to find and acquire.
Dora 9 Diecast was established by a South African Collector of Military Diecast Aircraft with a view to provide the South African Military Aircraft Enthusiast access to the stunning range of models available worldwide but not so readily available in South Africa. Not being a wholesaler, models are sourced worldwide from retailers and collectors, even ebay. The models are available for purchase directly or on Bid or Buy.

Lancasters, Lancasters, Lancasters!!!
It's not everyday we talk Lancasters on here but I'm very pleased that we do have an opportunity to do so now. The Corgi 1/72 Avro Lancaster is one of those iconic models with grace and presence few others can muster. It gives me great pleasure to advise that two have been successfully secured for collectors.
First is the Leonard Cheshire model that was last to be released. Already these have sold out at retailers and are commanding a premium over the release price. A lovely model and one of the best releases to date. The Corgi Lancaster seems to get better with age!!!

The other is the highly sought after RAAF No. 460 Sqn. G for George. This model rarely comes up for auction and is long sold out. It features eye catching nose art with its bomb tally. Rare for Lancasters in general.
Hobby Master releases for October 2011
Big new for fans of the Century Series of US jet fighters, HM has announced a new 1/72 tooling in the form of the F-101 Voodoo. There's a RAAF F/A-18 too!!!
There are a few other jets of interest, a Japanese F-4EJ Kai in their unique blue camouflage scheme, another VF-84 Jolly Rogers F-4N Phantom very similar to the previous release so good for a two ship display.
The UH-1B Huey also makes a reappearance after a long absence in the form of a RAAF example from the battle of Long Tan 1966.
In 1/48 there's an interesting looking checker nose Fw190, a very nice RCAF Spitfire Mk.IIA and a RCAF Kaydet (Stearman).

New Hobby Master Releases for September 2011
September seems a little thin on excitement I must say. Hobby Master is introducing a new 1/72 jet tooling in the form of the F-106 Delta Dart.
HM have been focussed on finishing up the American Century Series of fighters and that just doesn't seem to creat much interest here.
The reason simply being South Africans want to see aircraft we're familiar with, Mirage IIIs and Mirage F1s. HM have let collectors know that these along with the much sought after Saab Viggen and Draken is not on the cards from them.
What we therefore will be seeing is a Canadian CF-18A Hornet, RAAF F-111, an interesting Turkish F-4E Phantom, two F-CK-1As and an Austrian F-5E.
There's also a 1/48 Stearman and 1/32 Dauntless.
On the civilian front there's a new 1/200 scale tooling in the form of the Super Constellation. With a little luck we'll see one of these in SAA colours soon.
