Shuttle's report - Corgi Club model production pictures.

Courtesy of Corgi I have received a production sample of AA27102B (and AA27102A). Happy to report that they are both superb models and really capture the 'look and feel' of the Bf-109G. The quality is very crisp and the paint finish top notch with a decent representation of the camouflage scheme.

My only issue is that it is not possible to use the drop tank if you wish to display the model on the stand. Apart from that it is a great release and the club model is significantly different, with a different coloured prop hub and the '11' marking. There is also a special box.

Well done Corgi. I believe both of these models will be released at the end of September or the start of October. This has a production run of 500 models.

Hobby Master 1/72 Air Power Series, HA4302, F-86F Sabre 24494, 11th BG, ROCAF Hsin Chu, 1958.

In 1958 Nationalist China MIG-17s had an altitude advantage over the RoCAF F-86Fs and would cruise over the Sabres picking and choosing when to strike. That is until the USN provided the ROC with the new AIM-9 Sidewinder missile. Initially 20 F-86s were modified to carry the AIM-9.

On September 24, 1958 MIG-17s proceeded as normal and the RoCAF F-86Fs began to launch the Sidewinders destroying 10 MIGs with 2 probables with no loss of Sabres. F-86F 24494 was the first to claim a victory.
